Terms of Service

The LocalChum text messaging program sends a one-time verification code to the mobile number you provide, when you use it to sign in, make a contribution, or verify your phone number. Messages contain only the code. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

By entering your phone number and requesting a code, you consent to receive these text messages from LocalChum at that number. Consent is not a condition of purchase or of using any part of our services where you can use an email address instead.

Message frequency varies: we send one message each time you request a code. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, please contact your wireless provider.

You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text “STOP” to our number. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just request a code again as you did the first time.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalChum shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our website or SMS services.
